UCBD welcomes second MUFY cohort of 2025 with orientation

Universal College Bangladesh (UCBD), the exclusive partner of Monash College Australia, has successfully held the orientation for its second 2025 intake of the Monash University Foundation Year (MUFY) programme.

he orientation took place at the UCBD Gulshan campus, welcoming new students and their families to the globally recognised foundation programme that guarantees admission to Monash University in Australia or Monash Malaysia upon successful completion.
The session began with a welcome address from Professor Muhammad Ismail Hossain, Dean of Academic Affairs at UCBD and a Monash alumnus. Professor Hew Gill, President and Provost of UCBD, then addressed the students and their parents, highlighting the programme's academic strength.

"UCBD MUFY results in Dhaka are the best in the world—better even than Monash results in Australia," said Professor Hew. "Every student who passes is guaranteed a place at a world top-40 university, and all our UCBD students pass. That's why enrolments are rising and more students are choosing to start their world-class education right here in Bangladesh."

Azra Karim, Country Representative, International Student Recruitment at Monash University, added, "By joining MUFY, you become part of the global Monash community from day one. This is a smart and supported way to begin your international academic journey."
Programme Coordinator and Senior Lecturer Ambreen Zaman gave a detailed overview of MUFY's curriculum and its model of continuous assessment, which replaces high-stakes final exams. Other faculty and support team members guided students through the online platforms and academic resources used throughout the course.

A dedicated parent briefing session was also conducted by Professor Hew and Parent Engagement Executive Samia Salam to advise families on how to support their children's academic progress and plan future international degree options.
UCBD, the first Ministry of Education-approved international education provider in Bangladesh, offers students a pathway to degrees from Monash University, the London School of Economics (LSE) at the University of London, the University of Central Lancashire, and other leading global institutions.

Its campus in Gulshan offers international-standard programmes at locally competitive fees, allowing students to begin global academic journeys immediately after O/AS/A levels or HSC.
