UCB Signs MoU with RAISE project to support returnee migrant workers

United Commercial Bank (UCB) PLC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the RAISE Project, under the Wage Earners Welfare Board (WEWB), to facilitate access to finance for returnee migrant workers aiming to start or expand businesses. The signing ceremony took place at Probashi Kallyan Bhaban.
UCB's Additional Managing Director, Adnan Masud, and RAISE Project Director, Dr. A.T.M. Mahbub-Ul Karim, signed the MoU in the presence of senior officials from both organisations.
This collaboration aims to support the reintegration of returnee migrants into the economy by providing them with tailored financial services, enabling entrepreneurship and self-employment opportunities.
Speaking on the occasion, Adnan Masud said, "This initiative will empower returnee migrants and contribute to economic growth." Dr. Mahbub-Ul Karim added, "Access to finance is key to helping returnees build sustainable businesses."
The RAISE Project focuses on job creation and entrepreneurship for returnee migrants. Through this partnership with UCB, returnees will gain the financial resources needed to establish successful and sustainable businesses.
