UCB, Bangladesh Bank sign deal to provide credit facility to marginal farmers

United Commercial Bank PLC (UCB) has recently signed an agreement with Bangladesh Bank regarding refinance scheme for agriculture sector to ensure food security of the country due the current economic condition which has caused a rise in the food prices in the nation.
Under this agreement UCB will provide credit facility to marginal farmers at 4% rate of interest, reads a press release.
Arif Quadri, managing director & CEO of United Commercial Bank PLC and Md Abul Kalam Azad, Director (ACD), agricultural credit department, Bangladesh Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
Governor of Bangladesh Bank Abdur Rouf Talukder, Deputy Governor AKM Sajedur Rahman Khan, SVP and Head of SME Banking of UCB Mohsinur Rahman, and other senior officials of both the organisations were present at the ceremony.
