Teach For Bangladesh holds Alumni Induction 2026 in Dhaka
Teach For Bangladesh (TFB) formally inducted its 2024 cohort fellows into alumnihood at Alumni Induction 2026, held on 31 January 2026 at the Ismaili Jamatkhana and Centre, Dhaka.
The event, themed "Collective Leadership for Equity", marked a milestone as fellows transitioned into a lifelong community of leaders committed to advancing educational equity across Bangladesh.
The induction went beyond a ceremonial transition, serving as a reaffirmation of shared purpose, interdependence, and collective responsibility. Anchored in Teach For Bangladesh's core values of sense of possibility and interdependence, the event underscored that lasting change in education depends on leaders working collaboratively across classrooms, communities, and systems.
Reflecting on the transition, Sujan Daring, Lead, Alumni Impact, Teach For Bangladesh, said, "Alumnihood is not the end; it is the beginning of a deeper commitment for Cohort 24. Collective leadership is essential – nothing meaningful can be achieved alone."
The programme brought together TFB leadership, alumni from multiple cohorts, fellows, students, and partners, creating an intergenerational space for reflection, dialogue, and celebration. It featured keynote addresses, student and fellow performances, group activities centred on social cohesion, and concluded with an alumni oath and certificate-giving ceremony.
A key segment of the event was an alumni panel discussion titled "Navigating Collective Leadership", moderated by TFB alumnus Mohammad Rafat Alam (2021). The panel featured TFB alumni Shahnawaz Ayon (2016), Shaila Sharmin (2019), and Harun Ar-Rashid Mamun (2022), who shared insights from their work across creative industries, international development, and the non-profit sector. The discussion explored how collective leadership extends beyond the classroom, the role of interdependence in systemic change, and alumni influence on institutions, policies, and communities.
Speaking at the event, Munia Islam Mozumder, Chief Executive Officer, Teach For Bangladesh, described alumnihood as both a milestone and a responsibility. She called on alumni to use their voices, skills, and networks to co-create solutions and influence systems for long-term change.
"Alumnihood is not just a celebration of how far you have come," she said. "It is a commitment to lead together and remain accountable to the communities and classrooms we serve."
Former student Adil Islam Zihad shared reflections on the lasting impact of teacher–student relationships, highlighting how educators continue to shape lives beyond the classroom. He emphasised the importance of moving forward collectively, ensuring no one is left behind.
The keynote address was delivered by Professor Dr Md Monwar Hossain, Professor of Zoology, Jahangirnagar University, who highlighted the importance of optimism and collective progress. He stated that equity cannot be achieved in isolation and urged alumni to remain hopeful, curious, and committed to change. He also commended fellows for their classroom leadership, describing it as foundational to the country's future.
With Alumni Induction 2026, Teach For Bangladesh's alumni community has grown to 399 leaders nationwide, strengthening a collective force dedicated to advancing education equity and driving systemic change across Bangladesh.
