Stamford university launches free russian language certificate course

Stamford University Bangladesh has launched a free Russian Language Certificate Course, in collaboration with Saint Petersburg State University and My History Fund, supported by the Russian Ministry of Education.
As part of the initiative, a Centre of Open Education will be established at Stamford University, enabling students to study the Russian language at no cost, gain cultural insights, and improve their prospects for academic and professional opportunities involving Russia.
The programme was inaugurated on 3 September 2025, with Russian language instructor Yulia Uchakina from Saint Petersburg State University formally joining the initiative. She was welcomed by Stamford Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Yunus Mia and Treasurer Professor Dr Mohammad Jeaul Hasan.
University teachers and senior officials also attended the reception.
University authorities noted that the initiative would create valuable opportunities for Bangladeshi students aspiring to pursue higher education in Russia, as well as enhance students' cultural understanding and language skills needed for international collaboration.
Interested students have been advised to contact the university's admission office for details.
