Stamford University hosts cultural programme to bid farewell to winter
The Stamford University Sahitya Forum bade farewell to winter and welcomed the arrival of spring with a cultural programme titled "Maagh Moitri", held on 8 February 2026 at the campus auditorium of Stamford University Bangladesh.
Students, alumni, and faculty members joined the event, which featured music, recitation, dance, and theatrical performances, showcasing the cultural heritage and creative talents of the university's students.
Sharmin Siddique Shoma, Convener of the Stamford University Sahitya Forum, attended the programme alongside Zakia Noor Matin, the Forum's Adviser. Also present were Prodeepto Mobarook, Head of the Public Relations Division of Stamford University Bangladesh, and Tamanna Zerin, Adviser (Students' Welfare). Members and alumni of the Forum also participated in the programme.
Speakers at the event highlighted the role of cultural activities in nurturing creativity, preserving literary traditions, and strengthening bonds among students. They praised the Sahitya Forum for organising an event that combined entertainment with cultural awareness.
A colourful fair was also arranged on the campus premises. Several stalls were set up and decorated, offering handicrafts, books, traditional items, and food. The fair drew a large crowd of students and guests, creating a lively atmosphere throughout the day.
Participants described the programme as a welcome break from academic routine and an opportunity to celebrate youth, culture, and the changing seasons. The organisers said they hoped to continue such initiatives to encourage cultural engagement within the university community.
The event ended on a high note, with attendees taking home memories of music, creativity, and the arrival of spring.
