Southeast Bank trains officials to boost women entrepreneurship

Southeast Bank Training Institute recently organised a day-long workshop titled "Women Entrepreneur Development Programme" aimed at strengthening the activities of the Bank's Women Entrepreneur Help Desk and further promoting women's participation in business.
The workshop was designed for officials engaged in supporting women entrepreneurs across various branches. A total of 45 officials, including representatives from the Women Entrepreneur Help Desk, participated in the session.
Ms Sayma Banu, Director (Training), delivered the welcome remarks, highlighting the importance of enhancing gender-focused financial services.
Inaugurating the programme, Mr Mohammed Rashedul Amin, Deputy Managing Director of Southeast Bank PLC, underscored the need for targeted support to women entrepreneurs. "Strengthening the role of our Women Entrepreneur Help Desk is vital to developing sustainable women-led businesses across Bangladesh," he said.
The workshop featured interactive sessions conducted by experienced internal facilitators, including Mr Syed Abu Naser, Senior Vice President and Head of SME & Agri Credit, and resource persons from the Credit Risk Management Division.
Topics covered included women-centric financing strategies, market outreach, understanding borrower profiles, and practical loan assessment tools. Participants also explored best practices for increasing access to credit and support services for women-led enterprises.
Southeast Bank continues to prioritise women entrepreneurship as part of its broader commitment to inclusive economic development.
