Southeast Bank and Khulna University sign MoU for co-branded card facilities

Southeast Bank PLC and Khulna University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 2 July, to enhance financial and lifestyle services for the university's faculty members, students, and administrative staff.

The MoU was signed by Professor Dr Md Harunor Rashid Khan, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Khulna University, and Md Abdus Sabur Khan, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of Cards at Southeast Bank PLC, in the conference room of the university's administrative building.

In his address as chief guest, Professor Dr Md Harunor Rashid Khan termed the agreement a significant milestone in mutual cooperation. He expressed optimism that the partnership would facilitate greater financial inclusion and modern banking access for the university community through technology-driven services.

The ceremony was attended by senior officials from both institutions. From Khulna University, attendees included Professor Dr S M Mahbubur Rahman, Registrar (Current Charge); Professor Dr Md Nazmus Sadat, Director of Student Affairs; Professor Dr Md Enamul Kabir, Director of the Transport Pool; Professor Dr Md Ashiqur Rahman, Director of the Office of International Affairs; and Abu Saleh Md Parvez, Director (Current Charge), Finance and Accounts Division.

From Southeast Bank PLC, attendees included Ms Bilkis Jahan, Senior Executive Vice President and Head of the Human Resources Division; Muhammad Munirul Islam, Senior Vice President and Head of Khulna Branch; Md Abdul Haye, Vice President and Head of Sir Iqbal Road Branch; Md Shamsur Rahman Bhuiyan, Senior Assistant Vice President; and Md Sabbir Khan, In-Charge of the Khulna Card Centre.

Under the agreement, Southeast Bank will issue co-branded credit cards for faculty members and staff, and co-branded prepaid cards for students of Khulna University. Faculty members and staff will receive lifetime free credit cards with designated credit limits, while students will benefit from prepaid cards designed for convenient use, including online transactions and payments to both local and international institutions such as foreign universities.

The co-branded cards will feature the official logo of Khulna University as part of the design, reflecting the partnership and institutional identity.
