Seventh Walton Cup Golf Tournament concludes

The Seventh Walton Cup Golf Tournament 2025, sponsored by Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC and organised by the Army Golf Club, came to a close on Friday (28 February) with a closing and prize giving ceremony.
Brigadier General (retd) Md Zahidur Rahim emerged as the champion of this year's tournament. In the ladies' group, Sharmin Jahangir secured the championship, while Shayla Ahsan was awarded the Best Gross title, and Jyotsna Ara Neela became the runner-up. In the junior group, Khan Farhan Ahmed won the title, with Rayim Al Mabrook taking the Best Gross award.
In the veterans' group, Wing Commander (retd) M Saiful Islam was crowned champion, while Colonel (retd) Mohammad Aminul Islam won the Best Gross award. In the senior group, Brigadier General (retd) G M Kamrul Islam claimed victory, with Major (retd) Md Arman Ali Bhuiyan securing the Best Gross title and Brigadier General (retd) Abu Sohel finishing as the runner-up.
The president of the Army Golf Club, Major General Khan Firoz Ahmed (OSP, NDC, AFWC, PSC), attended as the chief guest and distributed prizes among the winners. Also present at the event were Walton Group's Vice-chairman, S M Nurul Alam Rezvi, and the chief executive officer of the Army Golf Club, Brigadier General (retd) Syed Ahmed Ali (PBGM, NDC).
This year's tournament saw the participation of over 800 amateur golfers, including 480 regular golfers, 76 veterans, 206 seniors, 42 ladies, and 16 juniors. A total of 23 participants were awarded prizes.
