SEU signs MOU with Amanat Shah Group to boost textile innovation
Southeast University (SEU) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Amanat Shah Group on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, at the university's Multipurpose Hall.
The signing took place during a talk titled Invention and Innovation in the Textile Sector, chaired by SEU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam.
Amanat Shah Group Chairman Mohammad Helal Miah attended the event as chief guest. Other speakers at the discussion included Md Nurul Islam, Chief Advisor of Amanat Shah Group; Md Rezaul Karim, Director; and Professor Engr Masud Ahmed, Chairman of the Department of Textile Engineering, SEU.
Following the discussion, the MoU was formally signed by Birmuktijoddha Md Nurul Islam, Senior Executive Director (Woven Fabrics) of Amanat Shah Group, and Professor Engr Masud Ahmed on behalf of their respective organisations.
According to SEU, the agreement aims to promote entrepreneurship development, innovation and career-building opportunities for students, as well as strengthen academic and industry collaboration through joint research initiatives.
The ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including Amanat Shah Group Chairman Mohammad Helal Miah, who is also a member of SEU's Board of Trustees; Directors Md Rezaul Karim and Miah Md Zubayer Amin; Chief Advisor Md Nurul Islam; and, from SEU, Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Yousuf Mahbubul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr M Mofazzal Hossain, Professor Engr Masud Ahmed, Professor Dr Engr ANM Ahmadullah, faculty members, officials and staff.
