Banglalink tops 8 of 11 indicators in BTRC QoS assessment
Banglalink said it secured the top position in eight of 11 key performance indicators (KPIs) in the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission's (BTRC) July 2026 Quality of Service (QoS) assessment.
According to a press release, the operator recorded the highest compliance across service indicators assessed at the network, district and upazila levels.
BTRC's monthly QoS report assesses the performance of cellular mobile phone operators in Bangladesh, including Banglalink, Grameenphone, Robi and Teletalk.
Banglalink said the results reflected its continued focus on network performance, service quality and compliance with the regulator's QoS requirements, and invited stakeholders to note this progress.
In the July assessment, Banglalink secured the leading position in eight BTRC service metrics.
These were 2G Call Setup Success, 4G Average UE (User Equipment) Throughput DL (downlink), 4G E-RAB Non-Retainability, VoLTE Call Setup Success, VoLTE Drop/Abnormal Release, Mixed Voice Setup Success, CSFB Success and SMS Completion.
The current QoS assessment primarily reflects mobile-network performance from a network-centric perspective.
Previously, mobile operators submitted QoS reports mainly at the national level, without a systematic process for the regulator to verify and reconcile them.
Under the current framework, BTRC has introduced a more structured process to independently review and validate the QoS data submitted by operators.
For the first time, the regulator is reconciling, reviewing and verifying reports submitted by mobile operators, and assessing verified performance data at the national, district and upazila levels.
The resulting reports are intended to provide a more comprehensive assessment of network performance across different geographical areas.
Banglalink Chief Corporate and Regulatory Affairs Officer Taimur Rahman invited stakeholders to view the achievement as validation of the company's focus on network architecture and operational performance.
"We aim to maintain consistency and strive for excellence in infrastructure optimisation, ensuring stable service for our consumers and highly reliable network connectivity across Bangladesh," he said.
Banglalink said it was working to build a complete digital ecosystem in Bangladesh, with network connectivity serving as its foundation.
The company is also seeking to strengthen nationwide access through direct-to-cell satellite connectivity with Starlink.
Its Voice over Wi-Fi service is intended to improve indoor mobile coverage and calling experiences.
Beyond connectivity, Banglalink operates Toffee, which the company describes as the country's largest infotainment-focused over-the-top (OTT) platform.
The operator is also expanding into digital financial services through its payment subsidiary, Mukto Pay.
Banglalink said these services would allow it to provide an end-to-end digital experience covering customer connectivity, communication, entertainment and digital payments.
