SEU opens two-day IEEE conference on power and industrial applications
Southeast University (SEU) hosted the 4th IEEE Conference on Power, Electrical, Electronics and Industrial Applications (PEEIACON 2025) on 4–5 December 2025.
The IEEE Bangladesh Section and the IEEE Industry Applications Society Bangladesh Chapter jointly organised the event.
The two-day conference commenced with an inaugural session at SEU's multipurpose hall on 4 December. Speakers included SEU Vice-Chancellor Professor Yusuf Mahbubul Islam, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor M Mofazzal Hossain, Conference Chair Professor Celia Shahnaz (Department of EEE, BUET), Technical Chair Professor Shaikh A Fattah (Department of EEE, BUET), Organising Chair Professor M Imamul Hassan Bhuiyan (Department of EEE, BUET), and Professor Dewan Md Farid, Dean of the School of Engineering at SEU. Farzana Alam, lecturer in the Department of EEE at SEU, delivered the welcome address.
The conference featured research paper presentations, plenary and invited talks, and workshops. It also included the Women in Engineering World Summit 2025, as well as an idea competition on the effects of climate change, where participants presented innovative solutions.
Most plenary speakers joined virtually from the United States, Australia, India, and Singapore, underscoring the global nature of the event. More than 100 papers were presented at PEEIACON 2025, which was conducted in a hybrid format to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.
