Seminar in Dhaka highlights higher study opportunities in Russia
The Russian House in Dhaka organised an educational seminar highlighting opportunities for Bangladeshi students to pursue higher education in the Russian Federation under the Russian government scholarship (quota) programme.
The event began with the introduction of Alexandra Khlevnoy, the newly appointed Director of the Russian House. The seminar was attended by more than 100 local applicants, graduates of renowned Russian universities, and Bangladeshi students currently studying in Russia, who joined virtually.
Participants received detailed guidance on the application and selection process for Russian government-funded educational programmes, as well as on submitting documents via the online platform.
Speakers also reflected on Russia's longstanding contribution to Bangladesh's education sector, noting that thousands of Bangladeshi students have earned quality degrees from Russian universities over decades of cooperation.
A key announcement of the seminar was the launch of free Russian language courses at the Russian House, beginning 27 October 2025, to be taught by a visiting instructor from St Petersburg State University.
For the 2026–2027 academic year, the Russian government has allocated 200 scholarships for Bangladeshi students, offering opportunities to study at more than 400 universities across Russia. The application period is open until 15 January 2026.
