SCB and SME Foundation partner to empower women entrepreneurs
Standard Chartered Bank, in collaboration with SME Foundation, organised a three-day training program on "Online Business Management and Financial Inclusion" for Women Entrepreneurs of Bogura.
A total of 36 Women Entrepreneurs participated in the training. Participants included entrepreneurs in various ventures, including homemade food, handicraft product manufacturing, boutique shops, etc.
Standard Chartered has been working with the SME Foundation to drive financial literacy and tech-based entrepreneurship training opportunities across Bangladesh. The entrepreneurship pathway lifts participation by helping individuals develop broader business skills, build financial knowledge, and access various financial resources and networks. The Bank is committed to creating a flourishing and productive ecosystem for the nation's women entrepreneurs.
The Government of Bangladesh has established the SME Foundation, an apex institution for developing small and medium industries under the Ministry of Industry. The SME Foundation is working to create small and medium industries in the country according to the Bangladeshi government's SME policy. Women entrepreneurship development programs are implemented with special importance in the Foundation's overall activities.
