SABSF elects new executive committee for 2026–2029 term
The second General Council meeting of the South Asian Baseball and Softball Federation (SABSF) was held at the Grand Four Fourwings Hotel, Bangkok, where elections were conducted for the 2026–2029 term.
Elected office bearers
- President: Syed Fakhar Ali Shah (Pakistan) – elected unanimously
- Senior Vice President: Dr. Anupam Hossain (Bangladesh)
- General Secretary: Deepak Neupane (Nepal)

- Dr Anupam Hossain – a noted public health and sports media personality, and Senior Vice President of the Bangladesh Baseball & Softball Association (BBSA) – takes office as SABSF Senior Vice President.
- Md Afzalur Rahman, President of BBSA, was elected as the first Member-at-Large of SABSF.
- Rafiq Mia Chowdhury was appointed Executive Director of SABSF.
The newly elected leadership will steer regional development, competition pathways, and the grassroots expansion of baseball and softball across South Asia through to 2029.
