S. M. Abu Jafar appointed new DMD of Al-Arafah Islami Bank

S. M. Abu Jafar has been promoted to the position of Deputy Managing Director (DMD) at Al-Arafah Islami Bank PLC. He previously served as Senior Executive Vice President since 2021, leveraging an impressive career in banking that began in 2000 as a first-batch Management Trainee Officer at Exim Bank PLC.

Over his 24-year career, Mr. Jafar has held key roles at Exim Bank and United Commercial Bank, excelling in foreign trade, operations management, and branch leadership, including managing corporate and authorised dealer branches. His achievements include receiving the "Chairman Gold Medal" three times for outstanding performance and the "Integrity Award" from Al-Arafah Islami Bank in 2017.

Mr. Jafar has participated in extensive training programmes, seminars, and workshops in banking and finance, both locally and internationally. He holds a B.Com. (Honours) and an M.Com. in Accounting from the University of Dhaka.
