Pubali Bank secures PCI-DSS certification for digital transactions
Pubali Bank PLC has achieved the internationally recognised Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) Certification, marking a significant milestone in strengthening the security of its card-based and digital transaction services.
The certification reinforces the bank's commitment to customer data protection, ethical banking practices and compliance with international security standards.
In line with Bangladesh Bank's guidelines, Pubali Bank initiated its PCI-DSS compliance programme in mid-2022. The process involved identifying technical gaps, modernising systems and security infrastructure, upgrading to the latest PCI-DSS version and completing all required compliance stages. The bank achieved PCI-DSS Certification for the first time on 31 December 2025.
The certification was issued by Control Case, a PCI Security Standards Council–approved Qualified Security Assessor, while I-Clique Solutions Limited served as Pubali Bank's local partner throughout the compliance and assessment process.
The bank said the achievement was made possible through coordinated efforts across multiple divisions, including the ICT Operations Division, Card Operations Division, Software Development Division, Card Business Division and the Alternative Delivery Channel (ADC) Division.
To mark the milestone, a PCI-DSS Certification Award Ceremony was held at the board room of Pubali Bank's head office, where the certification was formally handed over to Mohammad Ali, Managing Director and CEO of the bank.
Deputy Managing Directors Mohammad Esha, Mohammad Shahadat Hossain, Ahmed Enayet Manzur, Md Shahnewaz Khan and Md Anisuzzaman attended the ceremony.
Suresh Dadlani, President of Control Case International, joined the event virtually. Also present were Muhammad Asaduzzaman, Senior Consultant and QSA Representative of Control Case; Maruf Alam, Chairman of I-Clique Solutions Limited; Md Mostafijul Hoq, Chief Operating Officer of I-Clique Solutions Limited; and Jalal Zahidur Rahman, representative of CMS Solution.
Senior officials of Pubali Bank also attended, including Md Helal Uddin, General Manager and Head of ICT Operations Division; Ashim Kumar Roy, General Manager and Head of Card Operations Division; Endra Mohan Sutradhar, Chief Technical Officer and General Manager of the Software Development Division; N M Firoz Kamal, Deputy General Manager and Head of the Card Business Division; and Md Rabiul Alam, Deputy General Manager and Head of the ADC Division.
The bank said achieving PCI-DSS Certification reflects its commitment to corporate governance, risk management and safeguarding customer information. Pubali Bank added that it will continue to follow global best practices to ensure secure, reliable and internationally compliant digital banking services.
