Prime Bank, BAU host seminar on youth and financial inclusion
Prime Bank PLC, in collaboration with Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU), recently organised a seminar entitled "Financial Inclusion: Engaging and Inspiring Youth in Banking" under its PrimeAcademia initiative.
The session was led by Syed Sazzad Haider Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director of Prime Bank, alongside Shaila Abedin, Senior Executive Vice-President and Head of Liability, and M M Mahbub Hasan, Head of Financial Inclusion and School Banking. They encouraged students to view knowledge, innovation, and empathy as drivers of personal growth and national development.
BAU Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr A K Fazlul Haque Bhuiyan, attended the event as chief guest. Other guests included Professor Dr Md Abdul Alim, Proctor; Professor Dr Muhammad Shahidul Haque, Advisor; Dr M Asaduzzaman Sarker, Professor, Department of Agricultural Extension Education; and Professor Dr Shonia Sheheli, President of Team Utshob.
The seminar underscored the importance of stronger industry–academia collaboration. Both Prime Bank and BAU reiterated their commitment to advancing student-focused initiatives, research partnerships, and skills development programmes.
Through its PrimeAcademia platform, Prime Bank is supporting educational institutions nationwide with institutional banking, digital fee collection systems, payroll services, school banking, and customised student accounts under a single umbrella.
The event drew active participation from faculty members, senior officials, and students, inspiring young attendees to strengthen their role in financial inclusion and national progress.
