Pohela Boishakh 1432 celebrated at State University of Bangladesh

On the occasion of Pohela Boishakh 1432, the State University of Bangladesh (SUB) adorned itself in the vibrant colours of the Bengali New Year. The entire campus was filled with a festive spirit as faculty members, students, and administrative staff came together to welcome the New Year with joy and enthusiasm.
The celebration began at 10:00 AM with an inaugural ceremony graced by the Honourable Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Md. Akhtar Hossain Khan. Among others present were Dr. Ahmed Hossain, Registrar of the University, Senior Deputy Registrar Farhana Sharmin, Deans of various faculties, department heads, respected faculty members, and Brigadier General (Dr.) Md. Afzalur Rahman, Principal of the State College of Health Sciences.
In his inaugural speech, the Vice Chancellor said, "Bengali culture is a reflection of our soul. Pohela Boishakh offers a unique opportunity to pass on our heritage and traditions to the younger generation. Events like this instil empathy, patriotism, and cultural appreciation among students. I thank all the organisers and participants for their heartfelt efforts that made this celebration lively and colourful."
A major attraction of the celebration was the Boishakhi stalls, set up by students from all university departments. These stalls showcased the essence of Bengali tradition with homemade food, traditional attire, and creative presentations that beautifully reflected the richness of our heritage.
Throughout the day, a vibrant cultural program was held, featuring Bengali folk songs, poetry recitations, and traditional dances performed by students. Each performance carried the earthy charm and heartfelt expressions of Bengali folk culture, captivating the audience with its authenticity.
This remarkable celebration was made possible by the dedicated planning and hard work of the SUB Cultural Club, whose contribution gave this year's Boishakh festivities a special touch of excellence.
The festival concluded with an atmosphere filled with joy, excitement, and deep appreciation for culture. With this celebration, the State University of Bangladesh transformed into a radiant fairground of Bengali tradition—a true celebration of happiness, heritage, and harmony.
