NSU Hosts Insightful Session on Global Economic Perspectives

The Office of External Affairs (OEA) at North South University (NSU) successfully hosted an engaging session titled "Understanding Our Economic World: Business, Society, and Your Life at York University" in collaboration with York University, Canada.

This event, held in the SBE Conference Room at NSU, was designed to foster global cooperation and enrich students' learning experiences through interdisciplinary research.

Dr John Justin McMurtry, Professor and Dean of the School of Liberal Arts and Professional Studies at York University, led the session. He offered profound insights into the dynamic relationship between business, society, and global economic trends. He emphasised the significance of international partnerships in advancing transdisciplinary collaboration and shared research initiatives from York University that aim to bridge academic knowledge with real-world impact.

The interactive session brought together students and guests, creating a vibrant platform for intellectual exchange. Participants had the opportunity to engage in discussions, gaining a deeper understanding of global economic interdependencies and their influence on individual lives. He left with the advice to the students, "If you can do something that others can't, you can get the most benefit out of it".

Before the session, Dr McMurtry, accompanied by Ms Shuchita F Husain, Regional Recruitment Manager – South and Southeast Asia, proactively met with NSU's Pro Vice-Chancellor (In-charge), Deans, and key Academic and Administrative Heads. The discussions focused on potential collaborative initiatives between NSU and York University, further strengthening academic ties and fostering opportunities for faculty and student exchanges.
