NRB Commercial Bank marks sixth anniversary of Al Amin Islamic Banking
NRBC Bank PLC has observed the sixth founding anniversary of its fully Shariah-compliant Al Amin Islamic Banking window.
A doa mahfil marking the occasion was held on Tuesday, 20 January 2026, at the bank's head office. Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Committee, Syed Mohammad Mosaddeq Billah Al Madani, attended the programme as the chief guest.
The event was presided over by Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NRBC Bank, Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan. Among others present were Deputy Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, Mohammad Abdul Qaiyum Khan, and Head of Al Amin Islamic Banking Division, Abdul Gafur Rana, along with senior officials of the bank.
At the programme, it was noted that the Al Amin Islamic Banking window was launched on 20 January 2020, with the objective of providing Islamic banking services to customers. NRBC Bank currently operates 109 branches and 415 sub-branches, all of which are offering Islamic banking services.
Syed Mohammad Mosaddeq Billah Al Madani said that all Islamic banking services were being provided through the Al Amin Islamic Banking window in full compliance with Shariah principles. He added that necessary measures had been taken to further strengthen interest-free banking transactions, based on profit-and-loss sharing with customers.
NRBC Bank Managing Director, Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan, said Al Amin Islamic Banking services were available at all branches and sub-branches of the bank. He noted that deposits and investments under the Islamic banking window were growing steadily, adding that special programmes had been undertaken to further expand its activities with the aim of building a just and equitable economic system.
A special prayer was offered at the doa mahfil, seeking continued success and prosperity of NRBC Al Amin Islamic Banking, as well as peace and well-being for the people of the country.
