Renaissance Dhaka to host Chattogram-inspired buffet from 11 October
Renaissance Dhaka Gulshan Hotel will host "Mejjanot Aiyun", a buffet dinner celebrating Chattogram's culinary heritage and mejban traditions, from 11 to 19 October at its Bahar Multi-Cuisine Restaurant.
The themed dining programme will take place on the hotel's third floor, featuring regional dishes, live cooking stations, and traditional desserts, according to the press release.
The event forms part of the hotel's monthly culinary programmes, which explore regional food traditions and contemporary dining concepts from Bangladesh and beyond.
Inspired by Chattogram's mejban culture, "Mejjanot Aiyun" will feature dishes including Chatgaya Akhni Biriyani, Mejban Gost, Loitta Shutki Bhuna, Chhuri Shutki Do Piaza, Vetki Paturi, Chonar Dal and Bhuna Khichuri.
The buffet will begin with salads, cold canapés, local-style bhortas and traditional pickles, including Loitta Shutki, Jolpai, Aamloki and Aam Aachar.
Live stations will serve Chapti and Chita Pitha with coriander-leaf, dried-fish, mustard, and black-cumin bhortas. A separate tawa station will offer Kolija with Luchi.
Guests can also choose freshly prepared items from the live fry station, including Potengar Chingrir Chop, Loita Fish Fry and Rupchanda Fry.
Other regional dishes will include Chatgaya Paya Nolli, Murog Narikel Korma, Sorshe Kochur Loti and steamed atop rice. The buffet will also feature a selection of contemporary international dishes.
The dessert menu will include Kheer Sandesh, Rasmalai, Sandesh, Mishti Doi, Tal-er Pitha and Mera Pitha, alongside live stations serving Vapa Pitha and Kheer Patisapta.
The buffet dinner is priced at Tk8,999 net, with an "Eat three, pay for one" offer available across all payment methods. The hotel said the offer would allow families and friends to gather and explore Chattogram's regional cuisine.
