NRB Bank gets Mastercard principal membership
Mastercard has granted principal membership licensing to NRB Bank PLC, authorising the bank to issue Mastercard credit, debit, prepaid, and SME cards in Bangladesh.
The partnership enables NRB Bank to provide customers with secure, seamless domestic and international payment solutions across ATM, POS, and e-commerce platforms, as well as access to Mastercard's global network and advanced digital payment capabilities.
The licensing ceremony took place at NRB Bank's head office in Dhaka, attended by Syed Mohammad Kamal, Country Manager of Mastercard Bangladesh; Sohail Alim, Director of Mastercard Bangladesh; and Tarek Reaz Khan, Managing Director and CEO of NRB Bank.

Other attendees included Deputy Managing Directors Md Shaheen Howlader and Anwar Uddin, SEVP Md Rezaul Shahriar, Head of Cards Khaja Wasiullah, and senior officials from both NRB Bank and Mastercard.
