NCC Bank marks 32 years of trusted banking

NCC Bank celebrated its 32nd anniversary on 17 May 2025, reaffirming its pledge to uphold trust, innovation, and dependable service for its valued customers. The occasion was marked at the bank's head office, where Chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim inaugurated the programme by cutting a ceremonial cake.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from the bank's staff and executives, who collectively pledged to continue delivering steadfast support in meeting customers' evolving banking needs. Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin led a discussion that reflected on the bank's achievements while also outlining a forward-looking vision grounded in transparency, innovation, and financial inclusivity.
Among the distinguished attendees were Vice-Chairman Abdus Salam; Director and former Vice-Chairman Sohela Hossain; Director and former Vice-Chairman Tanzina Ali; Director Syed Asif Nizamuddin (Online); Director and Executive Committee Chairman Khairul Alam Chaklader; Director Mohammed Sazzad Un Newaz; Independent Director and Audit Committee Chairman Meer Sajed-Ul-Basher, FCA; Additional Managing Director M Khurshed Alam; and Deputy Managing Directors Md Mahbub Alam, Md Zakir Anam, Mohammed Mizanur Rahman FCA, and Md Monirul Alam, along with the heads of all head office divisions.
Reflecting on the journey since the bank's founding on 17 May 1993, Chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim stated, "Over the past 32 years, NCC Bank has played a vital role in the country's economic development. Our dedication to ethical governance and customer confidence has elevated us to a leading position in the financial sector. I am confident that this legacy of excellence will continue well into the future."
Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin highlighted the bank's sound financial foundation, attributing its continued success to adherence to compliance, transparency, and strong corporate governance. "Our goal is to offer secure, innovative, and accessible banking services that transcend time and place. By embedding NCC Bank at the forefront of our stakeholders' trust, we aim to ensure banking services reach all segments of society," he added, encouraging collective efforts towards this vision.
The celebration concluded with a special prayer session (Doa Mahfil) led by Professor Dr Shahidul Islam Barakati, Vice-Chairman of the bank's Shari'ah Supervisory Committee, seeking divine blessings for the continued growth and prosperity of the institution.
