Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim highlighted the important role freelancers play in the country's socio-economic development and stressed the need for customised financial services to support their growth. He noted that the new account, with features such as foreign currency transaction options, would offer freelancers greater flexibility in managing international payments and income.

Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin added that with over 650,000 freelancers contributing nearly $1 billion annually to Bangladesh's tech industry, the sector has become a vital engine of economic growth. He said the "NCC Freelancer Account" includes facilities such as personal loans and credit card services, which can help freelancers meet their financial needs and continue expanding their careers.

The new product is expected to empower the freelancing community with enhanced banking solutions, further integrating them into the formal financial system.
