NCC Bank launches ‘Freelancer Account’

NCC Bank PLC has launched a new banking product titled the "NCC Freelancer Account" to support the growing community of digital professionals. The product is tailored to address the specific financial needs of freelancers and aims to foster financial inclusion in the national economy.
The account was officially launched during the bank's Annual Business Conference 2025, held at the Palace Luxury Resort in Habiganj, Sylhet. The ceremony was attended by Chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim, Executive Committee Chairman Khairul Alam Chaklader, Director Syed Asif Nizamuddin, Independent Director and Audit Committee Chairman Meer Sajed-Ul-Basher FCA, and Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin.
Also present at the event were Deputy Managing Directors, the Head of Business and Branches, and other divisional heads of NCC Bank.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Md Nurun Newaz Salim highlighted the important role freelancers play in the country's socio-economic development and stressed the need for customised financial services to support their growth. He noted that the new account, with features such as foreign currency transaction options, would offer freelancers greater flexibility in managing international payments and income.
Managing Director M Shamsul Arefin added that with over 650,000 freelancers contributing nearly $1 billion annually to Bangladesh's tech industry, the sector has become a vital engine of economic growth. He said the "NCC Freelancer Account" includes facilities such as personal loans and credit card services, which can help freelancers meet their financial needs and continue expanding their careers.
The new product is expected to empower the freelancing community with enhanced banking solutions, further integrating them into the formal financial system.
