Nagad enables Padma Bridge toll payments via digital wallet
Nagad has introduced a facility enabling travellers to pay tolls on the Padma Bridge using its digital wallet, as part of efforts to enhance convenience in the country's transport and payment infrastructure.
Under the new service, Nagad users can instantly pay Padma Bridge tolls through their wallets, following integration with the interoperable toll payment system D-Toll, operated under the EkPay platform of the Access to Information Programme.
To use the service, customers must register through the 'Toll' option in the Nagad app and link their Nagad wallet to the system. After registration and wallet attachment, users can top up the required amount, and link their vehicle by providing the necessary details.
Registered customers are also required to complete a one-time verification of their BRTA-approved RFID tag at the Mawa Toll Plaza. Once verified, travellers can use the ETC lane when crossing the Padma Bridge, following the designated speed limit.
Nagad said the service will help reduce waiting times at toll plazas, and make travel faster and more hassle-free, easing minor traffic congestion previously experienced during toll payments.
Further details about the service are available on Nagad's official website, and verified social media platforms.
