MTB named best bank for diversity and inclusion by euromoney

Mutual Trust Bank PLC (MTB) has been recognised as Bangladesh's Best Bank for Diversity and Inclusion by Euromoney for the fourth consecutive year, reaffirming its commitment to building a more equitable workplace and community.
In 2024, MTB introduced the Shreya platform, extending career development and gender equity support to over 800 female employees. The initiative led to progressive policy reforms, including the introduction of miscarriage leave and the establishment of stronger grievance redressal mechanisms through the Harassment Assistance Committee and the Female Employee Assistance Committee.
MTB's Board of Directors comprises 25 percent female representation, significantly higher than the banking industry average of 13.61 percent. The bank has also forged impactful partnerships, including with Speed and Creative IT through the Swanirbhar Angona Project, which empowers women in teaching and digital marketing.
Through its dedicated MTB Angona platform, the bank served over 81,202 women in 2024 alone, while expanding Agent Banking operations to 184 centres. It also conducted 267 rural awareness programmes to strengthen financial literacy and inclusion. These efforts resulted in a 35.1 percent increase in customers and a 65.1 percent rise in deposits under MTB Angona.
Beyond urban initiatives, MTB has been driving rural and regional development by extending credit to farmers and women entrepreneurs under inclusive loan schemes, reinforcing its broader vision of inclusive growth.
Commenting on the recognition, MTB noted that the consecutive Euromoney awards underscore the bank's dedication to advancing diversity-focused leadership and driving meaningful change through innovation and digital transformation.
