MLIS honours winners as robocon x techfest concludes in Dhaka
The MLIS Robotics Club of Maple Leaf International School (MLIS) has concluded its inaugural inter-school robotics and technology festival, RoboCon X TechFest, according to organisers, who described it as a student-led platform for innovation and collaboration.
The two-day festival, held on 7 and 8 February 2026, drew participants from schools across the country. Activities included robotics competitions, AI-based solutions, educational robotics projects, creative coding, digital exhibitions, troubleshooting challenges, and problem-based innovation, organisers stated.

The closing and prize-giving ceremony, held on 8 February, was attended by Dr Md Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil Group and the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh (APUB), as chief guest. Dr Md Jafar Uddin, Adviser to Brac and former Senior Secretary to the government, and Zeba Ali, Founding Principal of Maple Leaf International School, were also present.
In his address, Sabur Khan stated that innovation matters when ideas are implemented effectively, and that leadership is demonstrated through action. He added that such competitions help develop creativity, teamwork, leadership, and problem-solving skills among students.
Jafar Uddin described innovation as both a challenge and an opportunity, and encouraged students to nurture curiosity and a technological mindset.
The programme began with an address by Nusaiba Nazahat Chisty, President of the MLIS Robotics Club, who spoke about technology, leadership, and innovation in shaping future generations.
Organisers stated that guests and speakers praised participants' enthusiasm and encouraged students to focus on application-oriented robotic solutions.
The organisers announced the winners of RoboCon X TechFest 2026 as Samin Yeasar of Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College, Retaj Al Raha of Maple Leaf International School, and Tahafeem of Maple Leaf International School.
