Meghna Bank joins Bangladesh Bank startup refinance scheme
Meghna Bank PLC has entered into a participation agreement with Bangladesh Bank under the Startup Refinance Scheme, aiming to foster the development of an innovation-led entrepreneurial ecosystem in Bangladesh.
The signing ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank, Nurun Nahar, as chief guest. Deputy Managing Director of Meghna Bank PLC, Momtazul Karim N Ahmed, led the bank's delegation at the event, reaffirming the commitment to offering bespoke financing solutions to the SME sector.
Also present were Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, Husne Ara Shikha, Director of the SME and Special Programmes Department, Nawshad Mustafa, and other senior officials of the central bank.
Representing Meghna Bank at the ceremony were SEVP and Head of SME Banking Mohammad Sohel Miah, Head of Branch SME and Agri Banking Md Shahabuddin, and Head of Micro and Small Business Md Shaidur Rahman.
Under the Startup Refinance Scheme, eligible start-ups will have access to credit facilities at concessional interest rates, providing financial backing for innovative and scalable ventures. The partnership underscores Meghna Bank's strategic emphasis on nurturing high-potential entrepreneurs expected to contribute to sustainable economic growth in Bangladesh.
