Mane Group CEO visits Bangladesh as firm marks first year of local operations
MANE, a French family-owned fragrance and flavour house with more than 150 years of heritage, has welcomed its group chief executive officer (CEO), Samantha Mane, to Bangladesh as the company marks its first year of operations in the country.
The visit forms part of her regional tour of high-growth Asian markets.
The visit underscores MANE's focus on Bangladesh, where it opened a wholly owned office in March 2025, becoming the first top-five global player in the sector to establish a direct presence in the country, according to the company. MANE noted that many competitors continue to operate through local distributors or importers.
The company stated that it has been present in Bangladesh for more than 25 years, working with local conglomerates in the food, beverage, and toiletries segments to provide customised flavour and fragrance solutions aligned with changing consumer preferences.
MANE stated that its Bangladesh office currently employs 13 staff, all directly hired by the group. The company has also established two application laboratories—one for flavours and one for fragrances—supported by a commercial team, as well as marketing and support functions. According to MANE, this structure is intended to combine global expertise with local agility to serve Bangladesh's consumer goods market through product innovation.
During the visit, Mane met the local team to review consumer expectations, category dynamics, and the role of innovation in fragrances and flavours. She stated that Bangladesh has strong long-term potential, citing a population of around 170 million in 2025, a growing middle class, expansion in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), and sustained GDP growth over the past decade.
"Bangladesh is a market with remarkable momentum. We are proud to strengthen our direct presence here and to work even more closely with our partners to bring high-quality, innovative fragrance and flavour solutions to Bangladeshi consumers," Mane stated.
The company stated that the visit reaffirms its commitment to further strengthening its presence in Bangladesh, supporting local manufacturers, and contributing to consumer-centric product development by combining global research and development (R&D) capabilities with local market insights.
