LGED launches training for four projects, including CRILIC

Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) held an inaugural training event for four significant projects, including the Climate Resilient Local Infrastructure Centre (CRILIC), in the seminar room of its RDEC building. The event was inaugurated by LGED's Chief Engineer, Mr. Ali Akhtar Hossain.
The comprehensive training programs span multiple areas, such as a five-day Training of Trainers (TOT) Course on RTK GPS and Total Station Field Operation, a three-day orientation for newly recruited assistant engineers, financial management training, and courses on climate-resilient infrastructure planning (TPP and DPP), along with digital tools training on D-Nothi and e-PMS.
In his address, Chief Engineer Mr. Hossain emphasised the vital role LGED plays in transforming rural Bangladesh, urging officials to maintain integrity and apply their training for rural development. "The rural economy is synonymous with the dynamism of LGED," he remarked.
Several senior officials delivered welcome speeches, including Additional Chief Engineers Gopal Krishna Debnath, Abdur Rashid Miah, Md. Abdul Hakim, and others. The event saw participation from engineers and specialists such as CRIM-CRILIC Team Leader Dr. Daan Boom, Consultant Antonio Arenas, and Training Specialist Banda Hafiz. The training was organised by LGED Training Unit Executive Engineer Md. Shafiqul Islam.
