LafargeHolcim and JGTDSL sign gas sales agreements

LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC (LHB) and Jalalabad Gas Transmission and Distribution System Limited (JGTDSL) have signed two new Gas Sales Agreements (GSAs)—one for industrial use and the other for captive power—on 24 June 2025 at Bidyut Bhaban in Dhaka. Under these agreements, JGTDSL will supply a total of 16 MMSCFD of gas to LHB for ten years, starting from 18 January 2026.
The agreements were signed by Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury, CEO of LHB, and Jitendra Kumar Das, Company Secretary of JGTDSL, on behalf of their respective organisations. The signing ceremony was graced by Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Adviser to the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, as Chief Guest, and Mr Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA), as Special Guest. The event was chaired by Mohammad Saiful Islam, Secretary of the Energy and Mineral Resources Division.
Among other distinguished guests present were H.E. Michael Miller, Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, H.E. Reto Renggli, Ambassador of Switzerland, H.E. Gabriel Sistiaga Ochoa de Chinchetru, Ambassador of Spain, Md Rezanur Rahman, Chairman of Petrobangla, the Managing Director of JGTDSL, and senior officials from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, BIDA, Petrobangla, JGTDSL and LHB.
