Jamal elected president, Priyotosh general secretary of CUET Staff Association
The Staff Association Election 2025 of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) concluded on Tuesday with the election of new office bearers.
Md Jamal Uddin has been elected president, while Priyotosh Chakraborty has been elected general secretary of the CUET Staff Association. Voting was held at the university's central auditorium on 22 April.
CUET Vice-Chancellor and chief patron of the Staff Association, Professor Dr Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, inaugurated the daylong voting event.

Other elected office bearers include Md Shah Alam Mia as senior vice-president, Md Jahangir Alam as vice-president, Kulsuma Begum as senior joint secretary, Imran Hossain as joint secretary, Md Humayun Kabir as organising secretary, and Subrata Ghosh as assistant organising secretary.
Md Sakibul Alam has been elected treasurer, Abu Monsur as office secretary, Md Robiul Hossain as information, promotion and publication secretary, Md Rashedul Islam as religious affairs secretary, Sabbir Khan as social welfare secretary, Md Jamal Uddin as sports secretary, Choton Kanti Dey (Anik) as cultural affairs secretary, and Shakila Sultana as women's affairs secretary.
The five elected executive members are Md Abul Kashem, Md Ershad Mia, Md Zahirul Islam, Md Nazmul Hossain, and Md Mohiuddin.
The election was conducted under the supervision of Chief Election Commissioner Dr Abu Sadat Mohammad Sayem, head of the Department of Petroleum and Mining Engineering. The Election Commissioners were Mohammad Fazlur Rahman (deputy director, public relations), Sagar Talukder (sub-divisional engineer), and Muhammad Saber (senior cataloguer), with Mohammad Fazlul Haque (senior technician) serving as secretary to the commission.
