Ispahani tea gardens win green factory award 2025

Ispahani Group's Mirzapore and Zareen Tea Gardens have jointly won the Green Factory Award 2025 in the tea sector, recognising their exemplary commitment to environmentally sustainable and worker-friendly operations.

The Ministry of Labour and Employment, in association with the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE), selected 30 factories and institutions from 16 sectors for this year's honours. An award ceremony was held on Tuesday, 24 June, at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital.

Brig Gen (retd) Dr M Sakhawat Hossain, Adviser to the Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Ministry of Shipping, was present as chief guest. Adilur Rahman Khan, Adviser to the Ministries of Industries and Housing and Public Works, attended as a special guest.

Mr Mirza Ahmed Ispahani, Director of Ispahani Group, received the awards on behalf of the organisation. Also representing the Group were A K M Mainul Ahsan, General Manager of Ispahani Tea Estate; Mr Selim Reza, Deputy General Manager of Zareen Tea Garden; and Mr Saiduzzaman, Manager of Mirzapore Tea Garden.

The Ispahani Group had previously received the Green Factory Award in 2023 for its Ghazipur, Zareen, and Neptune tea gardens. This year's accolades for Mirzapore and Zareen reaffirm the Group's continued commitment to maintaining safe, sustainable, and decent workplaces within the tea industry.

Company officials noted that the recognition reflects a long-standing investment in environmental protection, worker welfare, and best practices in the plantation sector.
