Islami Bank reviews growth strategy at sub-branch conference
Islami Bank Bangladesh PLC organised a business development conference for its sub-branches on 17 January 2026 at Hotel InterContinental, Dhaka.
Professor Dr M Zubaidur Rahman, the Chairman of the bank's Board of Directors, attended the closing session as the chief guest. The programme was presided over by Md Omar Faruk Khan, the bank's Managing Director.
Mohammad Khurshid Wahab, Chairman of the Executive Committee, and Professor Dr. M. Masud Rahman, Chairman of the Risk Management Committee, spoke as special guests at the event.
Among others, Md Altaf Hossain, Engineer Mohammad Jamal Uddin Mazumder, and Dr M Kamal Uddin Jasim, Additional Managing Directors of the bank, along with senior executives from the head office and in-charges of 271 sub-branches, attended the conference.
Speaking as the chief guest, Professor Dr Zubaidur Rahman said Islami Bank is the largest bank in the country and a key pillar of the national economy. He said bank officials must make renewed efforts to restore the institution to its past position of strength through dedication, professionalism, and improved customer service.
He also emphasised the need to further expand investment in the SME sector and urged officials to work with the highest level of professionalism to maintain public trust and confidence in Islami Bank.
