HSBC honours four firms as exporter of the year 2025
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited in Bangladesh has announced the winners of the HSBC Export Excellence Awards 2025, recognising four Bangladeshi businesses as Exporter of the Year for their leadership and sustained contribution to promoting Bangladesh on the global stage, and enabling the country's sustainable growth.
The programme was supported by the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and the British High Commission Dhaka, with KPMG Advisory Services Limited serving as the technical and auditing partner. This year's winners were selected on the basis of their annual export contribution, economic impact, diversity, responsible and sustainable practices, governance standards, and regulatory compliance.
The winners of the HSBC Export Excellence Awards 2025 are:
1. Export Excellence: Ready-made Garments
(Export revenue of USD 100 million and above)
Flamingo Fashions Limited
Flamingo Fashions is a vertically integrated, export-driven apparel manufacturer supplying major global brands across 50 countries. With 118 production lines, 2,870 machines, and 60% raw material self-sufficiency, it produces 44 million pieces annually. Its digital product development ecosystem, advanced machinery, GRS-certified recycling, renewable energy use, water-efficient dyeing, and IFC-aligned governance have strengthened its global competitiveness.
2. Export Excellence: Ready-made Garments Backward Linkage
(Export revenue of USD 50 million and above)
NZ Tex Group
NZ Tex Group provides strong backward linkage to the RMG sector through its integrated spinning, woven, denim, and linen operations. With advanced machinery, an annual output of 52,000 tonnes of yarn, and about 550 looms, it supplies premium materials to global brands. Its sustainability certifications — GOTS, OEKO-TEX, GRS, and ZDHC Level 3 — along with renewable energy and water-saving initiatives, reinforce its position as a responsible, resilient partner to the RMG industry.
3. Export Excellence: Non-traditional and Emerging Sectors – Manufacturing

Janata Jute Mills Limited and Sadat Jute Industries Limited
Janata Jute Mills and Sadat Jute Industries have transformed jute into a platform for high-value, diversified products including technical and geo-textiles, non-woven felt, retail accessories, and sustainable packaging. With strong export growth across nearly 90 countries, advanced automation, circular-economy practices, and investment in workforce skills, the companies exemplify how a heritage sector can evolve into a modern, globally competitive manufacturing industry.
4. Export Excellence: Non-traditional and Emerging Sectors – Service

Ulkasemi PVT Limited
Ulkasemi is a leading example of Bangladesh's emergence in high-tech services, providing world-class semiconductor design from its engineering centre in Dhaka. As one of only 29 TSMC Design Center Alliance partners globally, it serves clients in the USA, China, Taiwan, and India. Its strong talent pipeline, academia-industry programmes, and investments in low-power, energy-efficient chip design place it at the forefront of Bangladesh's deep-tech capabilities.
The awards ceremony was attended by Sheikh Bashir Uddin, Adviser to the Ministry of Commerce, as Chief Guest; H.E. Sarah Cooke, British High Commissioner to Bangladesh, as Special Guest; and Dr Ahsan H. Mansur, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, as Guest of Honour. Md Mahbub ur Rahman, Chief Executive Officer of HSBC Bangladesh, along with award winners, customers, regulators, media, and other stakeholders, were also present. The event included a special session on 'Sustaining High Performance' by Jake Lovelock, Performance and Wellbeing Psychologist at Cognacity.
Commenting on the awards, Md Mahbub ur Rahman said: "Today's awards celebrate the grit and ambition of our exporters, but the path ahead requires strategic evolution. To achieve greater market diversification and maximise the benefits of existing and future preferential trade agreements, we must work collaboratively. We are grateful for the support of the Ministry of Commerce and the British High Commission for this flagship HSBC initiative."
