Honda futsal league 2025 unveiled with special tribute to Jamal Bhuiyan
Honda has officially launched the Honda Futsal League (HFL) 2025, organised by Bangladesh Honda Private Limited, at Carnival Hall of the Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Centre on 19 November 2025.
The kick-off marked the start of another edition celebrating sportsmanship, unity, and youth engagement under Honda's banner. The event also featured a message from Moto Honda da Amazônia Ltda, accompanied by a special token of friendship—a Brazil national team jersey signed by global football star Neymar Jr.
One of the highlights of the ceremony was the unveiling of logos for the thirty-two participating teams and the formal announcement of the tournament.
This year's edition emphasises the three key messages of the Honda Sports Challenge—Joy (enjoying challenges), Growth (growing challenges), and Connected (connecting challenges)—aiming to encourage a deeper love for sports, especially football, among young people.
Bangladesh national football team captain, Jamal Bhuiyan, attended as chief guest. As a special segment of the programme, Moto Honda da Amazônia Ltda presented the Neymar Jr–signed jersey to Jamal Bhuiyan. The jersey was handed over on behalf of Bangladesh Honda Private Limited by Managing Director and CEO, Susumu Morisawa, and Chief Marketing Officer, Shah Muhammad Ashequr Rahman.
Honda officials said the initiative reflects the company's commitment to supporting the revival of football in Bangladesh and inspiring young people to follow the sport at an international standard. They expressed hope that gifting the Neymar jersey to the national captain would add a new dimension to the football culture in the country.
Representatives from Moto Honda da Amazônia Ltda also joined online to extend their greetings and share support for Bangladeshi football fans and the national side.
The inauguration and trophy unveiling ceremony was attended by Susumu Morisawa, Managing Director and CEO of Bangladesh Honda Private Limited, and Shah Muhammad Ashequr Rahman, Chief Marketing Officer, as special guests. Dealers of Honda Bangladesh Limited, university representatives, club members, journalists, officials, and football enthusiasts also joined the event.
Speaking at the event, Jamal Bhuiyan said: "I am truly delighted to be part of this vibrant programme, and deeply honoured to receive this special token of love from Brazil—a jersey autographed by Neymar Jr. This initiative is a meaningful step for football in Bangladesh and will inspire the youth of our country."
Shah Muhammad Ashequr Rahman said: "Bangladesh Honda remains committed to customer satisfaction by meeting the evolving needs of riders. The Honda Futsal League celebrates passion, performance, and sportsmanship—values shared by both motorcycles and football."
Susumu Morisawa added: "This historic event is a source of pride for football supporters across Bangladesh."
Bangladesh Honda Private Limited said its goal is to inspire young people to engage more actively in sports, especially football. The company will continue strengthening its motorcycle business while creating opportunities for youth engagement, development, and participation.
