The Gulshan society organises programme with DNCC
On 28th January 2025, Gulshan Society, in collaboration with the U.S. Commercial Service Department of Commerce United States of America and Dhaka North City Corporation, organised an event at Gulshan Society Lake Park Amphitheatre under the banner "Gulshan Mosquito Management Challenge" to make Gulshan Mosquito free-in just two months.
Mr John Fay, Commercial Attache to US Embassy Dhaka, attended the event as Chief Guest, and Barrister Omar Sadat, President of Gulshan Society, presided over the meeting. In the discussion, Dr Selleena Benjamin, Technical Development Specialist, Valent Biosciences Corporation, briefly described the USA-made, WHO-approved mosquito repellent VectoBac WG, which effectively controls mosquitoes at its larva stage.
This product is expected to significantly reduce mosquitoes in Gulshan. Members of the Executive Committee of Gulshan Society and Residences of Gulshan Model Town attended the event.
