FAO-funded BRRI workshop highlights sustainable cropping practices
A completion workshop titled 'Productivity Enhancement of Mustard–Boro–T. Aman Cropping System in Bangladesh' was held on Tuesday (04 November 2025) at the Training Complex Conference Room of the Bangladesh Rice Research Institute (BRRI), Gazipur.
The workshop was funded by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and organized by the Rice Farming Systems (RFS) Division of BRRI.Dr. Mohammad Khalequzzaman, Director General of BRRI, was the Chief Guest of the workshop, while Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Director (Research) of BRRI, presided over the session.
Dr. M. Moynul Haque, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Gazipur Agricultural University; Professor Dr. Parimal Kanti Biswas, FAO Consultant; Professor Dr. A.K.M. Ruhul Amin of Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University; Dr. Md. Harunur Rashid,Director of the SAARC Agriculture Centre; Dr. Manjurul Kadir, Director of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute;Dr. Md. Jamal Uddin, Additional Director (Monitoring and Implementation); and Dr. Mohammad Nasim, former Chief Scientific Officer of the BRRI RFS Division were the special guests.The keynote paper was presented by Dr. Md. Ibrahim, Chief Scientific Officer and Head of the BRRI RFS Division.
Representatives from various universities, the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE), Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council (BARC), Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC), Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), other relevant institutions and farmers attended the workshop.
