EBL partners with Norwegian Refugee Council
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) to enhance financial and operational efficiency for NRC's Bangladesh operations.
Under the agreement, NRC will leverage EBL's comprehensive suite of banking products and services to streamline its financial processes nationwide.
The partnership was formalised at a signing ceremony held at EBL's head office in Dhaka on 13 July 2025. Sehnaz Ozdamar, Country Director of NRC Bangladesh, and Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO of EBL, exchanged the documents on behalf of their respective organisations.

Also present at the event were Michele Carezis, Advocacy and Communications Manager, and Monirul Huda, HR Manager, from NRC Bangladesh; and Ahmed Shaheen, Additional Managing Director, and Md Jabedul Alam, Head of Transaction Banking – Corporate Banking, from EBL.
This collaboration reflects EBL's growing role in supporting humanitarian and development partners operating in Bangladesh through customised financial solutions.
