Eastern Bank’s technovation’25 tech fest concludes successfully
The Josephite IT Club has successfully concluded 'Eastern Bank Presents Technovation '25', a three-day national technology festival held from 18 to 20 September 2025 at St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Dhaka.
With more than 3,000 participants from over 50 institutions nationwide, the festival became a dynamic platform for young innovators to showcase their talents, exchange ideas, and compete in a range of technology-driven events.
Signature contests such as FIFA, PUBG Mobile, CICADA, and Hackathon drew wide participation, alongside Robo Display, App & Web Display, Crack the Code, Olympiads, quizzes, photography, poster design, a meme contest, and an ideathon. Winners represented institutions including St Joseph Higher Secondary School, Shamsul Haque Khan School and College, BAF Shaheen Kurmitola, Notre Dame College, Adamjee Cantonment College, and Shaheed Anwar Girls' College.

The opening ceremony was graced by Rubaiyet Hasan Siraz, Assistant Professor at NUB, and Br Leo James Pereira, CSC, Principal of St Joseph. The closing ceremony hosted Syed Almas Kabir, Director of FBCCI and former President of BASIS, as chief guest. Special guests included Qazi Mutmainna Tahmida, Additional Director of the Financial Inclusion Department at Bangladesh Bank; Sarmin Atik, Executive Vice President of Eastern Bank PLC; Fatiha Aayat, UN Representative; and Modhupom Antor, Lecturer at BUET.
Despite a light drizzle, the atmosphere turned festive with a magic show and a live concert featuring Abstract (Herman Gmeiner School), Spectrum (St Joseph), and the iconic band Blue Jeans.
Technovation '25 was supported by Eastern Bank PLC as title sponsor, Pubali Bank PLC as silver sponsor, and a host of partners including ULAB, ETV, Byapon, Kishor Alo, Radio Carnival, Polar, and Fantasy Kingdom.
The event offered a prize pool worth Tk 90,500, with Tk 25,000 for the Hackathon winners, Tk 20,000 for Valorant, Tk 10,000 each for FIFA and PUBG Mobile, and additional awards across various categories.
