Eastern Bank unveils Visa Virtual Prepaid Card

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) launched its Visa Virtual Prepaid Card portfolio today at its Dhaka head office. This fully digital and eco-friendly payment solution promises to redefine convenience and security for customers across Bangladesh.

The portfolio features two variants — the EBL Daraz Co-Brand Visa Virtual Prepaid Card and the EBL Visa Lifestyle Virtual Prepaid Card — each crafted to meet diverse lifestyle needs with a seamless digital experience.

This visionary initiative echoes EBL's steadfast commitment to digital transformation, enabling customers to open and issue their cards entirely online through the Skybanking app without requiring any prior banking relationship. With this effortless onboarding, users gain immediate access to secure, flexible, and sustainable payment options directly from their mobile devices.

Present at the inauguration were key leaders including Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO of EBL; Osman Ershad Faiz, Additional Managing Director and COO; M. Khorshed Anowar, DMD and Head of Retail and SME Banking; Zahidul Haque, Chief Technology Officer; Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury, Head of Digital Financial Services; along with Visa representatives Sabbir Ahmed, Ashish Chakraborty, and Tawfique Imam.

This launch heralds a promising chapter in Bangladesh's banking landscape, blending tradition with cutting-edge technology to empower customers on their financial journeys.
