Dutch-Bangla Bank and Pragati Life hand over first bancassurance claim
Dutch-Bangla Bank and its partner Pragati Life Insurance have handed over their first insurance claim following the tragic demise of a customer. The handover ceremony took place at the bank's head office, where a cheque covering the claim amount was presented to the nominee of the deceased policyholder.
DBBL is taking the lead in the bancassurance business in Bangladesh, aiming to bring more people under insurance coverage. As of 20 October 2025, DBBL has sold a total of 8,306 policies, and its market share in the bancassurance sector currently stands at 41%, the highest among peer banks in the country.
The event was attended by Managing Director and CEO of Dutch-Bangla Bank Abul Kashem Md Shirin and Managing Director and CEO of Pragati Life Insurance M J Azim, along with other senior officials from both organisations.
