Dhaka Bank launches entrepreneurship training

Dhaka Bank PLC and the Bangladesh Bank have launched a month-long Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) in Dhaka, under the Ministry of Finance's SICIP, with support from the Asian Development Bank.
The inauguration featured Ms Husne Ara Shikha, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank, as the chief guest, and was presided over by A K M Shahnawaj, Managing Director and CEO (Current Charge) of Dhaka Bank PLC, with other Bangladesh Bank officials attending.
Other senior representatives from Dhaka Bank were present.
The programme is designed to equip aspiring and existing entrepreneurs—particularly those outside the formal banking network—with practical skills such as business planning and financial literacy. By participating, entrepreneurs gain hands-on guidance on creating effective business strategies, managing accounts, navigating funding options, and building strong professional networks. These benefits enable them to grow their businesses, create jobs, and enhance their access to financial services, ultimately contributing to long-term business sustainability.
Dhaka Bank, selected to represent the Dhaka region, is conducting the training through its institutional infrastructure. The course, consisting of 100 hours of sessions over one month, includes 25 participants selected by a five-member committee. The programme will run until 15 September 2025.
This collaboration demonstrates a unified vision to drive sustainable entrepreneurship and inclusive economic growth across Bangladesh. By empowering a broader segment of the population to develop businesses and contribute to national progress, the initiative creates a foundation for enduring economic resilience and shared prosperity.
