Community Bank opens new branch in Jashore
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has inaugurated its 19th branch in Jashore, one of the principal economic and commercial hubs of the country's south-western region.
The new branch, situated on RN Road—one of the district's key business areas—was formally opened on Wednesday morning by A K M Awlad Hossain, Additional Inspector General (Admin), Bangladesh Police.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by special guest Ahmad Muyeed, BPM (Sheba), Additional DIG, Bangladesh Police. Senior officials of Community Bank, including Kimiwa Saddat, Managing Director (Current Charge); Shamsul Haque Sufyani, Chief Operating Officer; Hasi Rani Bepari, Head of CRM; Md Tanjim Morshed Bhuiyan, CITO and Head of DFS and Deputy Head of RMD; Sarfuddin Md Redwan Patwary, Head of Operations; Dr Md Ariful Islam, Head of Corporate Banking and Head of Business (Branch); Md Mamun Ur Rahman, Head of ADC and Head of MD's Coordination Team; Zahid Ibne Anwar, Head of GSD (CC); and Md Roqonuzzaman, Branch Manager, were present. Local dignitaries, business leaders, and customers also joined the event.
Speaking as chief guest, Awlad Hossain said that Jashore is one of Bangladesh's oldest and most culturally rich districts and holds significant economic potential. He highlighted the importance of Benapole Land Port, Noapara Industrial Zone, Gadkhali flower cultivation, advanced agriculture, and the region's fish hatchery sector. He added that the new Community Bank branch will further accelerate trade and business activities.
Special guest Ahmad Muyeed stated that the bank's core objective is to make banking more accessible to people across the country, including Jashore and other remote regions.
Managing Director (Current Charge) Kimiwa Saddat said that the bank aims to deliver specialised banking solutions for agriculture, SMEs, trade and commerce, industry, and the services sector in Jashore. He noted that Community Bank offers a wide range of savings and business accounts, DPS and FDR schemes, personal, home, and car loans, trade finance products, CSME solutions, and digital banking services to support local economic growth.
Speakers said that the new branch will support SME entrepreneurs, farmers, floriculture growers, industrial operators, traders, and general customers by offering easy, secure, and modern banking services.
Following the inauguration, guests toured the new branch facilities. Local business owners and customers expressed optimism that the Jashore branch will significantly improve access to banking services in the area.
