Chittagong Chamber election set for 23 May
The main event is CCCI's biennial election, set for Saturday, 23 May 2026, at the World Trade Centre, Agrabad.
Polling will run uninterrupted from 9am to 4pm, according to a press release dated 22 May.
A total of 6,765 voters are eligible to participate, comprising 4,001 from the ordinary group and 2,764 from the associate group.
The ordinary group will elect 12 directors from 38 candidates, while the associate group will select six directors from 15 candidates.
All preparations at the polling venue focus on ensuring an efficient, smooth election process.
As per voting guidelines, mobile phones are prohibited inside the polling centre. Entry requires presentation of the chamber-issued voter ID card.
Ordinary group voters may cast up to 12 votes, and associate group voters may cast up to 6 by marking candidates' photos. Invalid vote counts will void the ballot.
Voters have been instructed not to fold ballot papers under any circumstances.
Chamber Administrator Md Motahar Hossain and Chamber Election Commission Chairman Monowara Begum visited the polling centre at 5pm on Friday and expressed satisfaction with the overall preparations.
