BRAC University win women’s title at spike fest 2025
The women's volleyball team of BRAC University clinched the champions title by defeating Daffodil International University in a thrilling 2–1 set in the finals of "Spike Fest 2025" on Monday (8 December, 2025).
In the men's division, Daffodil International University secured the championship, beating Independent University, Bangladesh in a 2–0 set.
The two-day inter-university volleyball tournament was organised by BRAC University for the first time at its Merul Badda campus in Dhaka, bringing together some of the country's leading private universities in a celebration of sportsmanship and youth engagement.
In the men's category, participating teams came from Daffodil International University, American International University-Bangladesh, North South University, Independent University, Bangladesh, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, Green University of Bangladesh, Notre Dame University Bangladesh, and BRAC University.
In the women's category, teams competed from Daffodil International University, North South University, Independent University, Bangladesh, University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh, and BRAC University.
The women's final kept the audience on edge. Daffodil International University won the first set 15–11, but BRAC University fought back to take the second set 15–10. Showing resilience and teamwork, the hosts secured the title by winning the deciding set 15–11.
Trophies were handed over by BRAC University Treasurer Ariful Islam and Registrar David Dowland.
School of General Education Dean Samia Huq and Joint Director of Student Life Tahsina Rahman were present.
Representatives of the sponsors — ONE Bank Executive Vice President and Head of Corporate Liability and Cash Management AKM Salahuddin Khan, SMC Plus Chief Financial Officer Abdul Bashir Khan, and Pubali Bank General Manager and Division Head Faizul Haque Sharif, Deputy General Manager Mohammad Robiul Alam, and General Manager Shahin Shahriar — also attended the event.
