Thailand on track for new constitution, referendum supports it
Thailand's Prime Minister Anutin Chanthirakul won a landslide victory in the recent general election. The victory of his Bhumjaithai Party signals a new reality after the country's long political turmoil. In a referendum held on the same day, voters also voted in favor of a new constitution. Now the question arises; can a referendum in Bangladesh, like in Thailand, also be in favor of a new constitution? However, the reality in Bangladesh is different. Here, the power to amend the constitution lies with the parliament. Therefore, to make a new constitution, it is important to reach an agreement between political parties and follow the constitutional process.
