BRAC University inks deal to advance research-to-market innovation

The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (CED) at BRAC University, the Ministry of Science and Technology and technology strategy consultant Digital Bridge Partners have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to establish a strategic research partnership under the ministry's 'Research-to-Market Strategy'.
The collaboration aims to foster applied research that translates into market-ready innovations and national technology platforms, bridging academic research, industrial application and policy supervision under the ministry's strategic guidance.
It will focus on developing pilot projects and AI-enabled systems addressing national priorities such as climate resilience, industrial transformation, and data-driven governance, while also promoting knowledge transfer, capacity building, and co-funding opportunities among academia, government, and international partners.
This partnership marks a major step towards strengthening Bangladesh's innovation ecosystem through collaborative research, policy innovation and global knowledge exchange. It also aligns with BRAC University's commitment to achieving UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4, 9, 13, 16 and 17.
The signing ceremony was held at the Bangladesh Secretariat on 14 October 2025, attended by Md Anwar Hossain, Secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology; Abu Sayed Md Kamruzzaman, Additional Secretary; Mohammad Iftekhar Hossain and Md Saroar Hossain, Joint Secretaries; and Mohammad Aminul Islam Khan, Deputy Secretary.
From BRAC University, Afshana Choudhury, Head of CED, and Jabeer Al Sherazy, Lead, Data Integration and Partnership, were present. Haider Anwar and Nabil Chowdhury represented Digital Bridge Partners Ltd.
