Home Minister Salahuddin to oversee defence, cabinet, and armed forces divisions in PM's absence
Fakhrul will assume the responsibilities of the PMO
The government has announced that Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed will assume the responsibilities of the Ministry of Defence, the Cabinet Division, and the Armed Forces Division in the absence of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman.
A gazette was published yesterday (17 March) to this end.
Besides, Local Government, Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will assume the responsibilities of the Prime Minister's Office in the PM's absence.
In the absence of LGRD and Cooperatives Minister Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the responsibilities of this ministry will be carried out by State Minister Mir Shahe Alam.
In the absence of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, the responsibilities of the Office of the President, the Bangladesh National Parliament Secretariat, and the Election Commission Secretariat will be carried out by Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman.
In the absence of Amir Khasru Mahmud, the responsibilities of the Ministry of Finance will be carried out by Commerce, Industry and Textiles & Jute Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir.
In the absence of Minister for Women and Children Affairs and Social Welfare Dr Abu Jafar Md Zahid Hossain, the responsibilities of the Women and Children Affairs Ministry will be carried out by State Minister for Social Welfare Farzana Sharmin.
In the absence of Salahuddin Ahmed, the responsibilities of the Ministry of Home Affairs will be carried out by State Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Mir Shahe Alam and State Minister for Energy and Power Aninda Islam Amit.
In the absence of Religious Affairs Minister Kazi Shah Mofazzal Hossain Kaikobad, the responsibilities of the Ministry of Religious Affairs will be carried out by Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
In the absence of Labour and Employment Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury, the responsibilities of this ministry will be carried out by State Minister for Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Md Nurul Haque.
In the absence of Commerce, Industry and Textiles & Jute Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, the responsibilities of the Commerce and Industry Ministry will be carried out by State Minister for Commerce Md Shariful Alam.
In the absence of Fisheries and Livestock, Agriculture and Food Minister Mohammad Amin-ur Rashid, the responsibilities of the food ministry will be carried out by State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Sultan Salahuddin Tuku.
In the absence of Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman, the responsibilities of this ministry will be carried out by Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
In the absence of Minister for Education and Primary and Mass Education ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, the responsibilities of the Education Ministry will be carried out by State Minister for the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Bobby Hajjaj.
In the absence of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister and Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam, the responsibilities of these two ministries will be carried out by State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yeaser Khan Chowdhury.
For other ministries such as the Ministry of Planning, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Liberation War Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Land, Cultural Affairs, Textiles and Jute, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment, Information and Broadcasting, Fisheries and Livestock, Civil Aviation and Tourism, Water Resources, Disaster Management and Relief, Housing and Public Works, Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs, Primary and Mass Education, Health and Family Welfare, Railways, Road Transport and Highways Division, Shipping, and Bridges Division, the respective state ministers will carry out responsibilities of the ministers in their absence.
